LET’S GET TO KNOW NAD+

  • NAD stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide
  • NAD+ levels decline with age as evidenced in scientific studies, by improving and sustaining NAD+ levels, you can slow the aging process
  • NAD+ converts nutrients into energy and maintains healthy DNA
  • NAD+ injections are administered subcutaneously

HERE’S WHY YOU NEED NAD+

Improves Cognitive Function

As we age, our cognitive function can decline, leading to memory loss, brain fog, and trouble concentrating. One reason for this is low levels of NAD+, a crucial molecule that helps our cells convert glucose into energy. Our brain cells need this energy to function properly. Without enough NAD+, our brains can’t produce the energy they need, causing issues like memory loss and difficulty concentrating.

Assists in Weight Management

NAD+ is a crucial coenzyme for your body’s metabolism. As we get older, our metabolism slows down, leading to weight gain. NAD+ helps your body make ATP, an energy-carrying molecule that turns food into fuel for various functions. When combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, NAD+ Therapy can help maintain a healthy weight by boosting ATP production. The more ATP your body makes, the better your metabolism works.

Boosts Energy

ATP not only turns food into energy and delivers it to your cells, but it also boosts your energy levels. Since NAD+ is essential for ATP production, NAD+ Therapy can help increase your energy, reduce fatigue, and fight exhaustion. Feeling drained after a long flight? NAD+ injections are a great way to ease the effects of jet lag.

Aids in Muscle Development and Recovery

NAD+ can boost your energy and improve reaction times, which are key for top athletic performance. Adding NAD+ to your wellness or exercise routine can help you build muscles during workouts and aid in muscle recovery and repair afterward.

Supports Pain Management

One of the most popular uses for NAD+ Therapy is to help manage pain. NAD+ can reduce inflammation, a major cause of pain. The best part is that NAD+ is non-addictive, making it an excellent option for those who want to avoid the risks of opioids.

Improves Mood

NAD+ can help boost serotonin, the “feel-good” chemical in your brain. Getting NAD+ treatment can increase serotonin levels, which may help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

We are pleased to introduce you to our nurse practitioner, Dawn Hudson APRN

Dawn Hudson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the medical field focusing on emergency and aesthetic medicine. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing in nursing education from Walden University and received her post-master’s Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Purdue University.

Her mission is to establish professional partnerships with her patients, while empowering them through education, research, and evidence to make informed decision that allow them to live their best life. She believes a coordinated, collaborative, and an organized team approach is essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Through her own health and wellness journey, Dawn has developed a passion for functional medicine allowing her to help others get to the root cause of their problems. She is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field and providing the highest quality care in a safe, individualized, and welcoming environment.

In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, boating, traveling, sipping bourbon, golfing and anything adventurous. Her life motto is “Life is too short to be boring”.

Dawn’s favorite peptide: Glutathione, not only for its antioxidant and anti-aging properties, it also plays a role in detoxification, inflammation, immune function, and energy production. It helps keep my melasma away!

Dawn’s favorite Anti-Aging/Beauty products: Sunscreen and Retinol. I have a love for boating and beaches. Sunlight, UV, and blue light exposure is one of the leading causes of skin aging. Daily use of sunscreen can help prevent further signs of aging and protect against skin cancer. It’s been said that we lose approximately 1-2% of our collagen production every year after we turn 30 and for those of us over 40, that could be a 20% loss. I love retinol for its ability to increase collagen and elastin production, induce skin exfoliation, prevent wrinkles, acne, and hyperpigmentation.

Be sure to wish Dawn a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on July 9th!  Here is her Instagram:  honeydmh

If you have diabetes or know someone who does, you’ve likely heard of metformin—the go-to medication for treating and preventing type 2 diabetes. But here’s the exciting part: recent studies suggest that metformin’s benefits go way beyond blood sugar control. This wonder drug may help combat the effects of aging by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress while promoting autophagy. The positive health impacts seen in people with type 2 diabetes who take metformin, coupled with fascinating findings from animal studies, have sparked an intriguing question: could metformin be the key to unlocking longer, healthier lives?

Gut Check: GI-MAP

Gut Check: GI-MAP

Mar 1, 2025

A GI MAP (Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus) is an advanced stool analysis that offers a comprehensive view of your gut’s ecosystem. This test doesn’t just identify the presence of harmful pathogens—it digs deep into your microbial balance, revealing imbalances between beneficial bacteria and potential invaders, as well as markers of inflammation and digestive health. By analyzing DNA from your stool, the GI MAP pinpoints issues like bacterial overgrowth, parasites, and even viruses that might be causing symptoms such as bloating, gas, or irregular bowel movements. It’s especially useful if you’re dealing with chronic digestive discomfort, unexplained fatigue, or even hormone imbalances, because it uncovers hidden factors traditional tests might overlook.

What’s The Big Deal About Gut Health?

What’s The Big Deal About Gut Health?

Feb 26, 2025

In recent years, the connection between gut health and overall wellness has garnered significant attention, and for a good reason. Our digestive system is more than just a food processor—it’s a critical regulator of many bodily functions, including the balance of hormones. When the gut functions optimally, it supports the proper metabolism and regulation of hormones, which in turn influences energy levels, mood, weight, and even reproductive health. One of the most intriguing aspects of this connection is the role that gut health plays in estrogen metabolism and reabsorption, particularly how conditions like constipation can negatively affect this delicate balance.
